Knowledge of Good and Evil

This morning I awoke about 5: AM (though I “drowsed” till 6:15). These days seem extra serious and troublesome. Prayer; meditation; and waiting on God; all run together, inter-mixed with the Father’s words of wisdom (by the Holy Spirit) that are given at times when you feel like you have just been shoved through the strainer. While on the surface it’s not fun, God is doing His perfect work; His “refining”. The results this “work” is clarity of mind, purpose and hearing what the Spirit is saying; leaving behind the cares of this world and taking on the deeper understanding of what we see happening in the world today.

Rhonda and I got up, made coffee and turned on the news. As we were watching a story that came on about Citi Bank and how they want to pay there bankers more money to keep them. The government, as a major share holder, wants to cap or hold back there bonuses, raises; whatever. The debate is over “capitalism” vs. government control. On the surface it may seem just more blah, blah, blah, but it is actually a sign or indication of the times we are in. The truth is that business is running away with all the cash they can steel and doesn’t want interference from the government. Responsibility to “shareholders” has gone the way of the Dodo bird. The problem is that due to their own lack of restraint and lack of cash flow the powers that be sucked more money from the government and now has a partner that is looking over their shoulder and they don’t like it. As we were watching I was moved in spirit; hungering for righteousness and thought “come quickly Lord Jesus”.

The Holy Spirit responded that what I was seeing was “strong delusion” at work. Both sides think that they are right but neither side is. Lust for money and power has totally trumped righteousness. Arguments on both sides are twisted; putting good for evil. The “dark” or “wicked” sensation while watching leaves those who hunger for righteousness looking more and more to God. On the other hand, those who are unaware of just how evil the days are are “delusional”. The knowledge of “good and evil” has been replaced with “all deceivableness of unrighteousness”. The cry of James 5 can be heard in heaven as it is in all the earth: 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days. 4Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabbath.

So goes a day in the life of “bankers” and “the government” for the people; wickedness and coruption. What ever happen to truth or at the very least common sense? It seems it left with prayer in school! Once God is out of the equation wickedness has no limit but the cries of people have reached the ears of God. Righteousness comes! But who will consider the end? Who will count the true cost? Who has an ear to ear?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Revelation 2:7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

One Response to Knowledge of Good and Evil

  1. Ryan (ESC) says:

I thank God for His understanding in all things. This is a true depiction of the current state of the union (or lack thereof), for sure.

A house divided cannot stand. It couldn’t in Jesus’ day and it can’t now. I really pray that those who know God would hold on to all that He has given us.

    God bless,
    Ryan
