Truth is given to those who are as little children

John 16:13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

An update from “Encouragement for our Ministries”:

It’s been around three months since the word of the Lord was delivered to our church; the call to come to feast. When the Lord spoke in times past about the message He wanted given to our church He said that only a few would hear. Though we all nodded our heads in agreement, said “amen”, clapped our hands only God knows who truly heard and are doing what the word commanded. (At this point I know only one other person besides my parents that I believe have truly received what the Lord gave; the same brother I emailed previously about the prophecy/warning given to our church).

I was at ease for a few weeks as I believed that the job had been done; “the ball was in their court” so to speak, the word was given and they appeared to agree and accept Truth. However old concerns soon resurfaced when during Bible study I spotted the DVD for the book series: ”Left Behind” which I believed to be about the pre-tribulation secret rapture of the saints. I thought on whether to say anything but decided to watch some of it online to confirm my concerns. The following week the DVD was there again and so I thought “hmm ok Lord” and prayed about it the following morning and the Lord said: “Hide not the Light”.  In other words share the truth concerning the coming of the Lord with the saints. Though in the past I’ve only heard visiting preachers preach the pre-tribulation rapture I didn’t know the beliefs of our church members on this doctrine so I first asked the brother and the Bible studies teacher. I was greatly blessed by the brother’s response:

Subject: RE: Left Behind?

Greetings Bro.James,

Apologies for my tardiness and delay in replying to you email it has been a very busy week both contractual work and ministerial duties.

Thanks for your question below, the Church will be secretly rapture prior to the revelation of the man of sin, the persecution of the Church and great tribulation? I am not sure I understand the bible to say secretly rapture and why would God want to hide from anybody????. According to st Matt. 24:21-31 please read this. it is very clear regarding his return.

VS 29 state that immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; then the star from heaven will fall, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. These are the words of Jesus Christ himself while he was with us. If you have time read the whole chapter of St Matt. 24, also 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 or the whole chapter if you have time.

My brother please study the words for yourself, there are some clever and very educated people who will tell you a whole lot of stuff, i dont believe anything is wrong in watching a DVD or a religious film but bear in mind sometimes material is included for entertainment puropses therefore dont follow line by line of a Christian DVD as some parts may have been sensationalised for entertainments.

However seek the Holy Spirit to overshaw you when you go into study of his words, remember the Holy Spirit will bring you into all truth. St John 16:13.

Well my brother be strong in your faith because tough times is ahead of us all and unless we stand strong it will be difficult for the very elect to make it, en quote St Matt. 24:24.

God bless you and family,

Love Bro. Lenford.

However our Bible studies teacher didn’t reply but she decided to change the topic of study to look at end-time teaching. I mentioned to Ryan how I greatly respect her as she is one of the few people in our church I believed truly conformed to the image of Christ and that she allows the liberty of the Spirit during Bible study meetings. However my heart was grieved when she made it apparent that she believed strongly in the pre-tribulation rapture; along with the members of Bible study. In our previous meeting we looked at 1 Thessalonians 4; the part concerning the coming the Lord this being the foundational scripture for many to justify a pre-tribulation rapture.

Over the years I have noticed a common theme amongst the believers of this doctrine in that there are so many different interpretations of the scriptures they use to justify it. Such as: “Thessalonians shows how Jesus only comes in the air and not to the earth hence the pre-trib rapture”. “When Jesus called Paul only Paul saw, so will it be when the trumpet sounds”. “When Paul spoke of the falling away the proper translation means the ‘departure’ which means the rapture must come first”. “The falling away means falling away from biblical doctrine only”. “When the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth along with the Church then the anti-Christ is revealed”. “Jesus didn’t mention the pre-trib because He didn’t know about it”. “Jesus promised that we shall escape it and stand before Him”. “Jesus said He shall keep us from tribulation in Revelation three”. “Revelation only mentions the Church in chapters two and three”. “Revelation four ‘Come up hither’ speaks of the rapture”. “I’m going up in the first resurrection”. “The tribulation is about the Jews not the Church”.

Our church’ perspective is that the signs Jesus mentioned are for the Jews, “there are no signs for the Church” concerning His coming meaning that it could be at any moment. “Matthew was written for Jews; the Church will not go through Great Tribulation” and that the only way up will be martyrdom as shown in Revelation 7:9-17. I was very confused by this understanding to say the least, but everyone else seemed to agree with it.

I went home that evening and prayed on it asking the Lord to help me understand their perspective and whether this is correct and I was wrong.

The Lord then said: “Truth is given to those who are as little children”(05/01/10).

Matthew 18:3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The Lord revealed that Truth (even all truth) is given to those who are as little children, meaning their “child-like” faith qualifies them to receive it. They trust and rely on God for all their needs; all their understanding and knowledge of Truth they seek from God as they see God alone as the provider of such. It’s simple; they believe and trust God in all things. So many for whatever reason will not humble themselves to receive all truth; so often the simplicity of Truth is made so complicated by mans own interpretations. Being as a child requires us to recognise our own inability to comprehend Truth without the Holy Spirit’ sole input. In the context of the pre-tribulation rapture; another pattern I’ve noticed is that many who believe in the doctrine were taught by someone else (passed down from teacher to teacher, books, seminars etc) and never actually took the time to really seek God for the truth from Him themselves. Those I know of who understand the truth of Jesus’ coming has sought it themselves from God and they read the scriptures themselves. Though they may not be in line to get a “prized” theology degree, their faith nonetheless is pleasing to God. It is a reminder for me to ensure I trust God for everything and to maintain that child-like dependency and humility in Him as the cost of not doing so even a little is great (eternal).

Luke 18: 17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein

If a man loves Truth he must humble himself to receive (understanding) and not allow his personal beliefs, emotions or desires to replace it but rather die to them. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life; what could be simpler?

The Lord then gave another scripture to take with me to our next meeting as I look to point out the errors in this doctrine and stir others to seek the truth.

Mark 13: 23But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things (yet the pre-trib rapture was not mentioned). 24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

2 Thessalonians 2: 1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

Thank God for the simplicity of the Gospel.

Love in Christ,

James

Encouragement for our Ministries

Luke 21:19 In your patience possess you your souls.

Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

Romans 8:14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

God bless you all!

I thank you all for your prayers and encouragement over the past year or so, I thank God so much for your fellowship; God is truly faithful through His people.

Late last August the Lord commanded that I should prepare my heart and mind to minister by seeking His face through prayer and fasting. God was faithful and led the process, the prayers (revealing what I should pray for) and when to fast; the Lord led on many occasions to bear you up in prayer for the ministries in which God has called you to.

With the new job in place I was able to go to my church on Sundays which I haven’t been able to do consistently for about two years (my previous job meant I had to work on Sundays). Even though I had been going to our church all my life I wasn’t saved until two years ago, so spiritually speaking I haven’t really known our Church. Nevertheless I praise God for His work; often, when God calls a person or a people He separates and consecrates them unto Himself to prepare them for His purposes not allowing external influences to spoil His work; ESC is a testimony of this.

Last January I went to our Church’ annual Revival meeting which is where they have guest speakers from Canada and possibly the U.S.A. that preach during the weekend. As always they had a theme and a foundational scripture for the weekend.

The theme was called ”Time” and the Scripture was: -

Revelation 3:1And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.3Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.4Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.6He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

It was during that weekend that one of the speakers from Canada preached on Joel 2 “The Day of The Lord” yet failed to give the truth of what the Spirit is speaking and therefore did not stir the congregation to prepare themselves.

As I started going to both Sunday service and Monday evening Bible study I became somewhat confused. The church appeared to be really in love with God, there was fervency amongst us and we seemed to be zealous for Christ and “alive” in the Spirit (lively). After Bible study one night I asked the Lord how then are we not in “that place”, especially when I considered those that go to Bible study where the service is led by the Holy Spirit and all seem to have a sincere love and desire for Christ. The Lord gave this word in response: -

Word 28/09/09

“You shall know them by their fruit. I tell you the heart I see, the fruit of a man’s life I see, what men say and how they live I behold. Nothing escapes My sight. I know them that have not soiled (defiled) their garments. I know them that claim they live and are dead. Be at peace, My Will will be performed; trust and obey. Yield not to your own understanding.

My people I separate unto Myself; I will enclose My camp, I will purge My inheritance, I will consecrate My chosen. Know them (the chosen), mark them! I will reveal, lean on Me.”

The Lord reminded me of Tara’ vision, word and understanding she had a while back: – http://elmstreetchapel.com/2008/06/23/the-spirits-point-of-view-62108/ . The importance on trusting God for all understanding and not allowing our judgements to be dictated by our emotions or carnal understandings is truly great in this hour. Being led by the Spirit will ensure a righteous and correct judgement according to truth. God knows.

In the last few weeks our Church has got me really involved. I was asked to chair a discussion session with the youth department and the topic the Lord gave for that discussion was “Who is Jesus”? A few years ago at one of our Church’ meetings during worship I looked over to where the young people were sitting and was grieved at the heart to see that their worship was lifeless, looking as though they truly did not want to be there (the grief felt I believe was God’s). Our church’ youth department has seen a sharp decline in the last few years, and it wasn’t long after that meeting that there was an “emergency meeting” with all the young people, youth workers and the Pastor.  I remember that meeting being quite intense to say the least, we were asked “what’s the problem” or basically do we have any concerns or problems at Church. There were quite a few things raised, such as the fact that there is a huge generation gap in our Church causing the youth to feel somewhat alienated from the procedures that are undertaken during service by a predominantly elderly congregation.  It didn’t appear that the “issues” were sorted, but rather the lid was put on what was raised for the time being. During that night I believe the Lord gave the understanding that the youth aren’t “alive” as they simply don’t know Christ for themselves, they don’t have a relationship. Hence for the discussion “Who is Jesus”, where we discussed on the character and nature of Christ (btw thanks Dave for your help) according to what is written in scripture both OT and NT; the Lord willed that we should discuss Christ’s “I am” statements which led to talking about Him being “the Light”, ”the bread of Life” and “True Vine” which ultimately highlighted the importance of all the young people receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit; Christ in each of them. We pray and hope that the young people hear, as well as the youth leaders and that they point the way to Christ in truth.

When I was asked to minister it was mostly to speak on selected scriptures that they would give for each service, however God being faithful did make opportunity for the Holy Spirit to be offered alongside John 16:13. However the Lord did not give release to speak on impending tribulation, though I was asked to speak here and there the right opportunity had not arrived for the word God wanted me to give them. I would like to take this opportunity to confess a previous fault of mine and highlight the importance of obeying God doing precisely what He says and holding our peace if He has said to do so. A few months ago I was asked to preach at one of our evening services by our youth president however I was not ready to preach (the Lord said to wait) and decided to email her back to decline, however for some reason I wanted to share with her scriptures that essentially gave the warning message concerning tribulation.  However before I was able to email her the Lord did send a word through Austin and halted me from stepping outside His will: -

Word 19/03/09

“The lie’s of those before you tempt you to speak, yet I tell you what does (the) My word have to do with lies? Be patient My son in all that I give you. You have endured much yet I will perform My will in you and in your family as I promised. The slain are many who have stepped ahead of My Spirit.”

I praise God for His faithfulness and thank Him for His correction, also for Austin’s obedience. Trust in the Lord in everything and lean not on our own understanding.

One of the things that I struggle with is “boldness” in that I’m not very good at speaking in front of a lot of people, however to God be the glory that in the last few weeks I have been able to gain some experience and see how faithful God is at taking away our anxieties and replacing them with His peace, aiding us to speak His words.

Two weeks ago during our Sunday service the Lord gave a prophecy through the Pastors wife; it was a strong rebuke. Essentially the prophecy said that we need to “Change our ways (repent) and worship God (properly)”, when I got home I sought the Lord for confirmation and He gave this word: -

Word 11/10/09

“Who is a hearer and not a doer of My words? Who hears the word of the Lord and for joy or fear receives then turns away? Who hears the voice of the Spirit and hardens their hearts? I tell you judge not with your carnal understanding; see all things through My Spirit. My displeasure is made clear. But who will turn? Do they even know what they must turn from? Who seeks Me in truth, asking Me to reveal the hidden sins in their heart? Many do not know their own hearts. Many are deceived and love their deception. Woe unto the Pharisee! For indeed they appear righteous unto men but their hearts are far from Me; (far) from Truth.”

I then emailed a few brothers from the church and asked for their understanding on the prophecy, all gave essentially the same response: -

Bro James, Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus.

Thank you for your email and regarding the subject of prophecy, my understanding of the prophecy is God is still not please, we as people seem to be making all the right sound and demonstration but God sees our heart and he is not happy, not please. The Holy Spirit was calling us to repentance and into true worship but it seems we don’t understand!!!

Isaiah 58:6 is not this fast that I have chosen; you can read the whole chapter and 1 Thessalonians 5:19 quench not the spirit. I really think we as a people need to be very careful how we treat the word of God.

I am very push for time but come back to the subject another time.

God bless

I shared with him some of the understandings God gave through the word I received and the following Sunday (last Sunday) he shared it with the Church. However that wasn’t until after God gave another strong warning; the preacher for the morning was stirred to preach from Haggai 1, key verse: Haggai 1:5Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. The sermon was an exhortation to examine ourselves and get right with God, it brought to mind those words about keeping a “righteous garment”. During the evening service we had a teaching on “famine”; the Genesis account of Joseph, Pharaoh, the seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. During this teaching/discussion session the recession was raised which led to an end time discussion, the Lord opened the doors for me to share the importance on being full of Oil in this hour, on having the Holy Spirit and asking God to reveal the truth of the hour to us (anoint our eyes with eye salve).

When I got home the Lord laid it on my heart that it was time for the warning about tribulation to be given; a week ago our Pastor asked me to preach on our “Youth Sunday” which is this Sunday coming, the 25th. I have sought the Lord and He gave me this word:-

Word 20/10/09

“Tell them to be prepared (be separate, holy & have lamps full of Oil); (tell them) to endure in Me, (in) the faith till the end. Tell them not to lose their first love, (tell them) to remain faithful even unto death; if found unworthy. Tell them to search themselves whether they are Mine. Tell them to measure themselves by My Word. Warn! Judgement has begun in My house. I see! I know who is a “tare” and who is a “wheat”; I know Mine. I will purge (Matt 13:36-43), I will judge. Warn; tell them a time of trouble such as never been nor shall ever be again is at the door. Warn; tell them to hold fast till I come.”

I asked the Lord for a scripture to confirm and to use as a foundation scripture to preach from on Sunday.

He gave Ezekiel 33.

Speaking of Drought

Psalm 125:1They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

Last night the Lord gave further understanding to a prophetic word He gave last year. Although at first I believed it to be for personal understanding I feel stirred to share it for encouragement.

Word 05/08/08:-

“Be holy as I am holy, be all that My Spirit has called you to be, follow Me, nothing doubting. I tell you many shall call you a false prophet, but be not moved, only know that I have called you. Be not troubled by what they say, for I am with you, the Lord your God will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be moved by their words, do not be moved from Me, remain in Me and I will bring you peace. Trust in Me and Me alone, for I tell you they come, they come saying “I am Christ”, but be not deceived lean not upon no man but lean upon Me the Lord your God, trust in Me and Me alone.”

Initially when this word was given I believed that this meant that many people at the Church I go to would reject the warning of impending judgement and tumultuous times, specifically due to their belief in the pre-trib rapture. However the Lord gave more understanding to the word and revealed that I had witnessed evidence of it coming to pass.

The Lord pointed out the initial rejection that came from family and loved ones when truth was first shared with them, who believed that I was under the influence of another spirit, and not the Holy Ghost. After this the Lord reminded me of a “prophet” that spoke at our church in January (during our revival weekend) and preached on Joel 2:1, where he mentioned judgement coming and “prophesied” under the “apostolic prophetic anointing” that 2009 would be a significant year of some sort (from what I can remember) and also eluded to the rapture, i.e. that it was soon to come. The message basically was to “blow the trumpet”/warn of the day of the Lord and be ready for the rapture.  The Lord also reminded me of other moments during that weekend where the “prophet” made mention of himself as anointed and of the miracles that he did. However as far as repenting of dead works, coming out and being separate, entering into God’ rest etc (what the Spirit was/is speaking) these never came up.

All truth it would seem is forgotten in most churches, the way to all truth is not sought after nor spoken of but rather many are satisfied with what they have believing it to be enough. All truth or rather the love of Truth is not found in many as it requires them to take action, to die to themselves, to carry their cross or crucify their lusts (flesh/carnal understanding). Truth is not always “sweet” it can taste “bitter” but is always good for a person, however these days men love to have their ears tickled and soothed with words they want to hear. Even words of judgement, can come with a softness and a flavour that will ensure the listeners don’t empty the pews (i.e. “you won’t be here for it”). Rarely have I heard truth preached in such a way as Jesus spoke; offending the flesh and all that is not of God. Most men haven’t come to recognise “all truth”. Mans way has darkened God’s. They are certain that they are in the right and so they are at ease in Zion.

“Trust in Me and Me alone, for I tell you they come, they come saying “I am Christ”, but be not deceived lean not upon no man but lean upon Me the Lord your God, trust in Me and Me alone.” - The Lord reminded me of this and gave the understanding that I had witnessed this at my church that weekend. The understanding was that many Christians are leaning on/relying on men. Multitudes rely and trust that their ministers speak to them truth and no deception or error comes from them. More so they lean upon them for their spiritual growth/food/knowledge of God. They lean upon these men (or women) because of their “anointing” or the great signs and wonders that they do. Truth comes from God alone, knowing God is everything, we cannot rely/lean on any man (anointed) but only on the Lord. The Lord then brought to mind Jeremiah 17:5-10 and highlighted verse 9:- Jeremiah 17:9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

It would seem that people have deceived themselves into seeking after and relying on the “anointing” of others, whilst believing that they serve and know God (doing His will), but never look to know God or receive understanding of truth from Him themselves. Then through those verses of scripture did the Lord highlight the ill fate of them that do this when the drought comes and compared that with them that trusted in the Him alone.

Jeremiah 17:5Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Then finally the Lord gave this word:-

Word 08/06/09:-

“How is it men honour men? Why do people look to other people? Faith pleases Me, but they lack faith. By faith can men receive of Me and be filled. The drought, the famine in the land will come upon them, they shall hunger and thirst after My word but shall not find it. Woe unto them. The Spirit of Truth guides you into all truth. Why has man spoiled the simplicity of My Gospel?

Hear me oh My children, the hour is at hand, My judgement (is) at the door, though your trials have been hard for you I will bring joy in the morning. You who have made Me your hope shall reap, the drought will not hurt you for you have trusted in Me.”

Every man should seek to hear for themselves and not rely on another.

Matthew 7:7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

James 1:6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

2 Peter 1:10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Word 21/04/09

The Lord gave this word:-

“Hold not to the things of this world, the hour has come for My judgement all that is not of Me will fall. The fire of My wrath will burn the earth. My return is near, sound the alarm in Zion for My day is at hand. Who is worthy to escape? Them that hear My will and are obedient to it, them that go their own ways will meet their end.

Hold fast to Truth for it will keep you in My freedom. Give to them meat; the weak (and the) lame, the bound set free by the power of My Spirit.

In you am I glorified, My own that will do exploits.”

2 Peter 3 :7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Matthew 24:45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Acts 1:8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Daniel 11:32And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Grace and Mercy

As the Lord instructed I was reading over and thinking heavily upon the things He gave in the past, one of which was a word with the understanding found in this scripture:-

Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

After reading this I was stirred to search for another scripture found in Exodus that spoke of God’s mercy and patience. Exodus 34:6…The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

However as I was searching for this scripture I came across a website i believed to be an atheist website due to the scathing words written against Almighty God. Not clicking on the webpage link but rather retreating to prayer (as I was very annoyed with this to say the least), thanking the Lord for the mercy and grace He has shown and the time given for men to repent and believe. However the Lord interrupted and gave this word:-

“I show mercy and kindness to all men (Matt 5:45), but know judgement and wrath comes quickly to the transgressors of My righteousness. They come saying words against Me. Am I mocked? I give time for repentance. I gave them space.

I harden hearts, the wicked that hate the light and love the darkness, woe unto them. Fear, pit and the snare (shall be their portion). How is it they say “there is no God”? How is it they say “my actions will have no consequence”? Woe unto them that hate Me, how great a sin it is. The yoke will weigh heavy upon them, ashes and sackloth (mourning) will be their covering, strong drink shall taste bitter. They rejoiced and marvelled at the darkness they bathed in. Their time has come, the time of their visitation.”

Exodus 34:7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

The Lord was impressing the need to understand and know the difference and to judge according to the leading of the Spirit, especially due to the season we are in. The grace and mercy period is on it’s last breath. Not everyone is going to hear words of truth nor the Gospel. Many are hardened to truth, God giving them over to their lusts, fitted and appointed for wrath. Do not pray against Gods will.

Romans 9:13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

1 Corinthians 2:15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

John 20:21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Word 09/02/09 “Faith”

I was reading the book of Daniel, the account of his plight in the lions den and was stirred in the following verse:-

Daniel 6:23Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

For some reason this really had me thinking, concerning my own faith and those around me. Whether or not we have that kind of faith in God that He will see us through situations/circumstances that this world has never seen nor will ever see again.

The Lord then gave this word:-

“Who do men say I am? The Lord God? The LORD? The LORD All-Powerful? The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY? Men can say these words yet be full of unbelief. You who call Me Lord must believe, knowing all things are possible through Me. I am He that works miracles. Did I not say that greater works will you do? Come believing nothing doubting. Put away your old ways, put away unbelief and fear. For those in such will not stand in My day. Come believing, faith is what pleases Me. Faith will move mountains, faith is the assaurance of things hoped for, yet (the evidence of things) not seen. Have faith in Me.”

The Lord wants us to have faith and believe in Him and that He is able. In this mordern era of ”living for Christ” Christians on a whole especially in the West are not really faced with major trials or situations like that of which members of the early church had to go through.  People rejoice at accounts like daniel and the lions den or the three hebrew children delivered from the furnace of fire or when God parted the Red Sea, but i wonder how many truly have faith that God did those things and can do such things. The time to come will demand that we believe and trust in God and His infinite ablity to protect, save, provide, keep, lead and see us through to the end, nothing doubting. That at all times we must rest in Him and be at peace and without fear, unwavering and unmoved because He is with us. However there was another part that the Lord wanted me to remember, and that is the faith to do mighty works in His name.

John 14:12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Mark 9:23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Matthew 21: 18Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. 19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

BELIEVE!! James 1:6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

The church environment in which i grew up in presented the idea that doing such works for Christ is not for everyone but sort of exclusive to the “higher ranked” members of the church, where they take the “center stage” and everyone else plays a neutral role or sits on the sideline. But Jesus said Mark 16:16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Its not “exclusive” at all but a testimony for all that actually believe. I pray that faith arises in us all and that anything the Lord would lead us to do will be done for His glory, and that fear and unblief is nowhere to be found among His chidlren. KNOW that He is able.

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 20By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 21By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 22By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. 32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. 34Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

God will close the door

Revelation 3:7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth

Last week I was reading the post “On Who’s Heels Do You Follow” and I was stirred by its message and the need for people to enter in while there is but a little time, my parents were at the forefront of my mind. I prayed about this and the Lord said this, “Pay attention to My Spirit’s  leading and speak all that I tell you to speak”

This morning during time in prayer and worship the Lord gave a word for me to share with my parents, i’ve decided to post it just to reiterate that time is very short and the opportunity to enter in is not to be taken lightly.

Word:-

“I am bringing the time of grace to an end. Know that My will is perfect, I call whom I will call, I will draw whom I will draw. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord to Me will enter in, many shall be locked out and shall weep and gnash their teeth. I am just, I am faithful, I have waited. Who has come? Who has obeyed the call? Who has sought Me? I looked for them that worship Me in Spirit and in truth, so few were found. Too many despise truth, too many hate the pure and clean garment, too many look upon My ways with grief not desiring to come higher. I will lock them out and they shall weep and gnash their teeth. Hear ye the word of the Lord, I have warned, I have called, come enter in for I am surely about to close the door.”

Isaiah 55:6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Matthew 25:10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.14For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. 19After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Word 03/02/09 “Freedom”

Word:- “Why do you hold to the things of the pass? Do you not know that they will weigh you down? I am your keeper, your provider, your healer. I cleanse you from your iniquities washing away your sins with My blood. Is this licence to sin? Surely not for My word says no sinners shall see My kingdom. But know truth, know I am your redeemer, freedom does not come from your looking back, but moving forward in Me. The heavy burden is brought upon you by your flesh. Flee from its desires, run to Me, My Spirit. Let every action be of My Spirit. Life in My Spirit, is love, joy and peace, what else can satisfy besides Me?”

God is so faithful. I pray more would come to the knowledge about that place in Him, life in the Holy Spirit, the rest of God. The Lord brought it to my attention that i can stray from that place He’s called us to by “looking back”, dwelling on the things of the pass. Whether thinking back on the person we once were before the work of God in our lives, or on places where we have stumbled in our walk with Him and thinking we are “unworthy” or not good enough to be close to Him or to come into His presence, forgetting the grace of God. Or simply looking back on the things, places, people the Lord has brought us away from and not moving forward in Him fully trusting, nothing doubting, counting all as loss for Christ. In the flesh we cannot please God, looking at life through a carnal lense will bring about heaviness especially as the world becomes a darker and darker place. BUT living in God’s Spirit, brings freedom. I’ve often heard young people say that living for Christ is too hard, almost like having a set of  tough rules bringing about bondage in their lives. It grieves me when the church fails to point the way to life in God’s Spirit, at allowing God to transform a person, renewing their mind, having the mind of Christ, knowing and loving truth. This place in God is not burdensome at all but “light” and “easy”…

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Luke 9:62And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage…13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another… 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Word 26/01/09 “Do all I that I ask”

The Lord gave this word, although at first i believed it to be personal i feel that the Lord would have me share it for others who may need to hear:-

“Follow Me, My ways, the leading of My Spirit. You are not your own masters. Lean upon Me, be led by My Spirit in all things. My instruction, My words, heed! Do all that I ask. Rest in Me I will show you the things to come. Know that I am with you, know that I keep you in perfect peace, keep your mind on Me, on the things above. Do not be moved by the words of men, nor fearful of what they say, I am the Lord God Almighty who can say anything?”

Moments before receiving this word i was reading this piece of scripture the parts highlighted in bold are the parts that stirred me the most when reading it at that time.

1 Samuel 15

1Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. 2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. 4And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. 5And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. 6And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites. 7And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. 8And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. 9But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. 10Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, 11It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 12And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. 13And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. 14And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? 15And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. 16Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on. 17And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel? 18And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. 19Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? 20And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. 22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 24And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 25Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD. 26And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.  27And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. 28And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. 29And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. 30Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God. 31So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD. 32Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past. 33And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. 34Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul. 35And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.

Comment/understanding:-

The Lord was pressing upon me the importance of doing EXACTLY what HE tells/instructs me (us) to do. Doing otherwise though well intended still counts as disobedience and is very costly. The time is upon us where darkness will eclipse the earth, the time where the “wise” must shine and proclaim truth according to the leading of the Spirit, feeding the hungry, setting the captives free, pulling people out of the fire. I believe this is why the Lord was reminding me of this so that when the time comes to go out and serve/minister it is all done according to Gods will and not ours.

Matthew 4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

James 122But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Word 24/12/08 “The beggining of Wisdom”

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Keep her close, wisdom is proven of her children. In the days to come you must be wise as serpents yet harmless as doves. Be not troubled by the shaking to come, do not be moved. Remain under My leading obeying My every word. Wisdom, I bring, seek of Me, buy of Me. My Spirit is with My own, I shall guide them. The wise of this world are foolish in My sight. Where is the fear of Me in the earth? I will shake its foundations. Let every wise man (of the world) be confounded, for My day shall bring them down to the pit of sorrows and confusion. The haughty, the proud shall be brought low. My day is no good day, but dark, yet in My day they shall know I am the LORD.”

Psalm 111:10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Proverbs 1:7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 15:33The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

1 Corinthians 3:18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

James 1:5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Job 28:20Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding? 21Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air. 22Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears. 23God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. 24For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven; 25To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. 26When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: 27Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. 28And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Luke 7:35But wisdom is justified of all her children.
